 Oktoberfest 2007 - Munich, Germany 2007
Oktoberfest is the most recognized and well-known festival around the world and certainly takes the top spot for beer festivals in the world. This year it will be held from 22 September - 07 October 2007. Don't miss the opening parade that takes place on the 22 September in the streets of downtown Munich and ends on the Theresienwiese, also known as the "Wiesn." The parade has horse-drawn carriages representing the breweries, many folk groups, as well as bands with traditional costumes. Plan early and be there for the official opening when the famous words "Ozapft is" accompanying the official tap of the first keg to start off the celebration, drinking, eating, dancing and rowdiness. Don't forget to enjoy the many rides, such as the ferris wheel, roller coaster, and just about any other white-knuckle thrill, scary or fun rides that you can imagine, all conveniently spread around the beer tents and beer gardens.
